Summary Description
This is an incredible opportunity to join a small but growing clinical stage pharmaceutical company with a bright future. The Project Leader, Facilities Planning, Design and Construction is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing a wide variety of projects involving the construction of new facility in San Diego. The position reports to the Senior Director of Technical Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead assembly of business and user requirements (Facility URS)
  • Translate user requirements into executable solutions
  • Manage stakeholder requirements and trace to executed solutions
  • Coordinate business and technical review meetings
  • Develop schedule, spending plan and project milestones
  • Assemble and coordinate planning team (Architect, Clean Rooms and Utilities, Laboratories and common areas)
  • Coordinate planning team and develop Basis of Design
  • Design multi product vaccine facility
  • Manage, track and report budget, spending plan and project status
  • Manage planning team
  • Manage buildout of new facility (built, installed, commissioned, qualified)
  • Translate requirements into cost and energy efficient solutions
  • Coordinate that requirements are translated into FDA compliant solutions

Qualification Requirements:

  • Advanced engineering degree and 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical facility design
  • Demonstrated ability to manage capital investment projects of 50+M
  • Demonstrated leadership in creating requirements and design documents for pharmaceutical facilities
  • Comfortable working with various stakeholders and diverse requirements
  • Comfortable working with technical experts in industrial, pharmaceutical facility design and construction
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to challenge requirements as well as proposed design
  • Economic mindset
  • Passion for results and ability to navigate ambiguity
  • Excellent collaboration skills with a desire to bring out the best in others
