Summary Description
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Medical Affairs, the Medical Information Specialist (MIS) is a scientific expert responsible for responding to external medical and scientific enquiries as well as information requests from internal stakeholders. Responding to unsolicited medical information requests, and tracking these requests, are integral components of this position. Additionally, the MIS will build & maintain appropriate high-level relationships with an assigned list of opinion leaders and key customer influencers (KOLs/KCIs), organizations, institutions and associated personnel. The MIS also facilitates data generation, education, and scientific insights gathering activities at the direction of Medical Affairs leadership. The MIS will also provide appropriate support of commercial colleagues in conjunction with the broader medical affairs organization.


  • Respond to unsolicited questions regarding PaxVax products, and track these requests and responses
  • Facilitation of disease state, product, and competitor education to internal stakeholders and external customers as appropriate
  • Scientific exchange with assigned KOLs/KCIs, organizational/institutional representatives, and associated personnel;
  • Medical Affairs/medical information staffing for medical/scientific meetings & conventions in the US and abroad as directed by Medical Affairs leadership
  • Work with medical affairs group to develop and monitor the execution of the European medical affairs field team strategic plan
  • Develop external materials for European Medical Affairs team, when needed
  • Assist the EU Medical Affairs Manager in developing training materials, where needed

 Qualification Requirements:

  • Therapeutic area expertise in Infectious Diseases, especially vaccines
  • Working understanding of Pharmaceutical industry compliance and the PhRMA code
  • Familiarity working with PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook, Skype for Business, and CRMs
  • Self-starter with a strong team orientation
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively
  • Terminal degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) in a relevant clinical/scientific discipline
  • Clinical/laboratory experience with vaccines, especially travel vaccines, strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries preferred but not required
  • Fluency in German and English are essential; additional languages are an asset
