Summary Description
The Associate Director will report to the Head of Marketing and lead the development and execution of best-in-class annual patient marketing plans inclusive of brand strategies and patient tactical plans utilizing deep marketing knowledge and former biopharmaceutical/vaccine marketing experience. The Associate Director/Director is responsible for the implementation of the brand strategy and corresponding tactical plan. The individual will work cross-functionally with HCP Marketing, Digital Marketing, Medical Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance and Government Affairs and will collaborate with other members of the commercial team as required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the strategic and tactical operations of the Direct-to-Patient marketing
  • Works with other team members to prepare DTP marketing plans and associated budgets and is responsible for managing execution against plans and budgets, ensure on-time delivery within budget of all marketing initiative
  • Monitor the progress of DTP marketing initiatives and adjust appropriately to optimize consumer uptake
  • Develop and implement marketing messages directed at patients incorporating health literacy and adult learning principles
  • Develop and deliver informative patient-friendly education and other direct-to-patient initiatives based on consumer needs
  • Identify, select, manage and evaluate external agencies, consultants and vendors to develop marketing programs in support of achieving dose and revenue goals
  • Utilize high level of business acumen in analyzing identified industry trends
  • Set a positive example for others to follow – share own expert knowledge – model standards of performance, offer guidance and support
  • Lead the development of a comprehensive media strategy that reaches targets in a cost-effective manner
  • Work in close conjunction with analytics team to establish defining KPIs and other performance measures as well as establish ways to measure impact, report results, and adjust plans accordingly
  • Monitor key performance metrics and recommend adjustments to strategy/tactics as needed
  • Represent the voice and experience of the patient within the organization
  • Ensure that all marketing activities are in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.

Qualification Requirements

  • 7-10 plus years of sales and marketing experience in the biopharmaceutical industry with at least 2+ years patient marketing or advertising required
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related fields required
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical/vaccine marketing fundamentals, strategy, sales and commercial policies and practices
  • Previous experience in marketing research and/or pharmaceutical/vaccine sales desired
  • MBA or other advanced business degree is desired
  • Proven ability to communicate complex scientific and clinical concepts to a patient audience is required
  • Excellent public presentation skills, written communication and listening skills.
  • This position will require up to 25% travel in the US
